Pricing

Fixed prices, per vehicle

One long drive, one price for the whole van. The airport costs the same as the city, because most people on this road are catching a flight and a second fare for the last half hour helps nobody.

How it works

Three messages and you're sorted

  1. 1

    Message us on WhatsApp

Send your riad name in Chefchaouen, the date, and either your Casablanca address or your flight number. Ask at least three days ahead so we can check van availability with the local operator. We reply with the fixed price and the vehicle, usually within a few hours.

  2. 2

    Driver collects you in Chefchaouen

He meets you at your riad, or at the closest point a car can reach in the medina, and loads the bags. From there it is one car and one driver for the whole 330 km, with stops whenever you ask for them. If you are flying, he sets the departure hour backwards from your check-in time.

  3. 3

    Pay on arrival in Casablanca

Cash to the driver at your hotel, or at the terminal door if you are flying out. Euros or dirhams, whichever you have left. Nothing online, no deposit, no card upfront, and the price you agreed on WhatsApp is the price you hand over.

Why book this route

The one drive you do not want to leave to a timetable

Chefchaouen to Casablanca is around 330 km and 5 hours, and for most travellers it is the last leg of the trip with a flight waiting at the end of it. The bus takes 7 to 8 hours on a fixed timetable and stops at a station, not your riad. A private van lets you set off at the hour that suits the flight, keep your bags with you, and finish at the terminal door for the same price as the city.

  • Door to door, from your riad in the blue medina to your hotel or the terminal door.
  • Mohammed V airport (CMN) is the same fixed price as the city, not an extra leg.
  • You pick the departure hour, so the drive is planned around your flight and not a timetable.
  • Bags travel with you, not in a shared hold, and there is room for 7 people.
  • Rabat is on the way, so a coffee or lunch stop costs you nothing but time.
  • One fixed price for the whole van, agreed before you leave Chefchaouen.

Questions

Frequently asked

Don't see it? Just ask on WhatsApp.

How long is the drive from Chefchaouen to Casablanca?
Around 5 hours for roughly 330 km. The first hour is the mountain road down out of the Rif through Ouezzane, then the country flattens out and the last half of the journey runs on motorway past Kenitra and Rabat. Add about 30 minutes on top if you are going to Mohammed V airport rather than central Casablanca. With a coffee stop, plan on 5 to 5.5 hours door to door, and tell us your flight time so the driver can set off early enough.
How much is a private taxi from Chefchaouen to Casablanca?
€285 for a Spacious Van carrying up to 7 passengers with luggage. That is the price of the whole vehicle, not a per-person fare, so a family of six pays the same as a couple travelling alone. It covers fuel, the motorway tolls, and the driver's time including the stops you ask for on the way. Nothing is added at the end of the journey.
Can you drop us at Mohammed V airport (CMN)?
Yes, and it is the same €285. The airport sits about 30 km south east of the city, so it adds roughly half an hour to the drive, and we absorb that rather than charging a second fare for the last stretch. Send your flight number when you book and the driver works the departure time backwards from your check-in, allowing for the mountain section at the start where the road is slow. He drops you at the departures door with your bags.
Is there a bus from Chefchaouen to Casablanca?
Yes. CTM runs a small number of departures a day and the fare is roughly 150 to 200 MAD per person, far cheaper than a private van. The trade-offs are the fixed timetable, a journey of around 7 to 8 hours once the stops are counted, and bus stations at each end rather than your riad door. Take the bus if you are travelling light and your day is flexible. Take the van if you are a group, if you have luggage, or if there is a flight at the other end that you cannot miss.
Is there a train from Chefchaouen to Casablanca?
Not directly. Chefchaouen has no railway station, so the train only becomes an option once you have reached Tangier or Fes by road. From Tangier the Al Boraq high-speed line reaches Casablanca in a little over two hours for roughly 200 to 250 MAD in second class, which is genuinely fast and comfortable. The catch is the first leg: you still need 2 hours and a separate fare to get from Chefchaouen to Tangier, and you change stations with your bags in between. For two people with time to spare it can work out cheaper. For a family, or anyone catching a plane, one car the whole way is simpler.
Can we stop in Rabat on the way?
Yes. Rabat sits directly on this road about an hour before Casablanca, so a stop there costs nothing but the time you spend. Most travellers use it for lunch or a coffee near the Kasbah of the Udayas, which adds an hour or two to the day. Say so when you book if you want a proper look around rather than a quick break, so the driver plans the departure hour with that in mind. If you are flying the same day, we will tell you honestly whether the stop still fits.
Do you have a smaller car for two people?
Right now this route runs in the Spacious Van only, because that is the vehicle the operators we work with keep free for the long runs out of Chefchaouen. If there are just two or three of you and you would rather take a Comfort SUV, message us with your date and we will check whether one is free and send you a price for it. We would rather quote you honestly than publish a rate we cannot always cover.
Do you drive Casablanca to Chefchaouen as well?
We do, though it depends on the date rather than being bookable on demand. The operators we work with are based in the north, so a Casablanca pickup only works when a van is already down there — most often the morning after a southbound run. When one is, it is the same fixed €285 in reverse, Mohammed V airport included, and you can book both directions in the same WhatsApp thread. Send us your date, or your flight number if you are landing at CMN, and we will tell you quickly whether we can cover it rather than running a van five hours down the country empty.
We want to see Fes as well. Does that change anything?
It does, because Fes is not on this road. Chefchaouen to Casablanca runs west and south through Ouezzane and Rabat, while Fes lies south east, so the two are separate journeys rather than one route with a stop. If Fes is on your itinerary, the usual order is Chefchaouen to Fes from €140, a night or two there, then the train or a separate transfer on to Casablanca. Send us the whole itinerary on WhatsApp and we will price the legs we drive and tell you where the train beats us.
