Fixed prices, per vehicle

One long drive, one price for the whole van. Menara airport in Marrakech and Fes–Saïss airport in Fes cost the same as the medina at either end, because a second fare for the last twenty minutes helps nobody.

Book Fes to Marrakech on WhatsApp

How it works

Three messages and you're sorted

  1. 1

    Message us on WhatsApp

Send your riad or hotel, the date, which direction you are travelling, how many of you there are, and your flight number if you are landing at Menara or Fes–Saïss or flying out at the other end. We usually reply within an hour during our contact hours, 8am to 11pm Morocco time, every day. Booking confirmation is usually quick once we have your trip details and the driver has confirmed the date. We then send your booking confirmation with the fixed price and the departure hour we recommend.

  2. 2

    The driver collects you

At your riad in Marrakech or Fes, at the closest point a car can reach in the medina, or at arrivals if you are flying in. From there it is one van and one driver for the whole 550 km. You set the departure hour, and if you are flying out at the other end the day is planned backwards from your check-in time.

  3. 3

    Pay on arrival

Cash to the driver at your riad, or at the terminal door if you are flying out. Euros or dirhams, whichever you have. Nothing online, no deposit, no card upfront, and the price you agreed on WhatsApp is the price you hand over.

Why book this route

The longest drive most people make in Morocco, done in one car

Marrakech to Fes is around 550 km, and it is the leg where a private car earns its price. The train takes around 6.5 to 7 hours, the bus longer, and both leave from a station rather than your riad. A van takes you door to door in around 6 to 7 hours depending on traffic, leaves at the hour you choose, keeps your bags with you, and can break the journey in Rabat or Meknes if you arrange it when you book. The same van, at the same fare, runs Fes to Marrakech.

  • Door to door, from your riad in Marrakech to your riad in Fes or the reverse, or the closest point a car can reach in either medina.
  • Menara airport (RAK) and Fes–Saïss airport (FEZ) are in the fixed price, not an extra leg.
  • You pick the departure hour, so the day is built around your flight or your check-in, not a timetable.
  • Bags travel with you, not in a hold or a luggage rack: four large suitcases and four carry-on bags fit with room to spare.
  • Rabat and Meknes are on the way, so a lunch break or a look at the Kasbah of the Udayas can be arranged when you book.
  • One fixed price for the whole van, €300 in either direction, agreed before you travel.

Questions

Frequently asked

Don't see it? Just ask on WhatsApp.

How long is the drive from Marrakech to Fes?
Around 6 to 7 hours door to door, depending on traffic, where in Marrakech we collect you and how long you stop. It is roughly 550 km, motorway the whole way: the Casablanca corridor, then past Rabat and Meknes to Fes. Fes–Saïss airport is about 15 km south of the centre, roughly 20 to 30 minutes more depending on traffic and where in Fes you are coming from. Tell us your flight time when you book and we set the departure hour to leave a comfortable margin.
How much is a private transfer from Marrakech to Fes?
€300 one way for a Spacious Van carrying up to 7 passengers with luggage, and the same €300 from Fes to Marrakech. That is the price of the whole vehicle, not a per-person fare and not a round trip, so a family of six pays the same as a couple travelling alone. It covers fuel, the motorway tolls and the driver's time for the direct journey. Short comfort breaks can be arranged with the driver; city visits and sightseeing detours must be agreed before booking. Nothing is added at the end of the journey.
Can the driver collect us at Marrakech airport, or drop us at Fes airport?
Both, at the same €300. Menara airport (RAK) is a short drive from the medina and Fes–Saïss airport (FEZ) sits about 15 km south of central Fes, roughly 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic, so neither adds enough to the day to justify a second fare. Send your flight number when you book: if you are landing, the pickup time is set from your arrival time, and if you are flying out of Fes, the departure hour is worked backwards from your check-in time.
Can we go through the Middle Atlas instead, via Ifrane and the cedar forest?
The €300 fare is for the direct motorway journey. The mountain road through Beni Mellal, Khenifra, the cedar forest at Azrou and Ifrane is an on-request alternative: a longer day and a different job for the driver, so its duration, availability and price are confirmed separately before you decide, not folded into the motorway fare. The Ouzoud waterfalls are a detour off that road and the same applies. If the scenery matters more to you than the hours, say so in the first message and we will come back with a price for that day.
Is there a train from Marrakech to Fes?
Yes, and it is the best of the public options. ONCF runs several Al Atlas trains a day between the two cities, around 6.5 to 7 hours end to end. A second-class seat is about 260 MAD and first class about 350 MAD, though fares vary with flexibility and the travel date, so check ONCF for the current timetable and price. The trade-offs are the stations at each end, with a taxi still needed to reach your riad, and bags that ride with you in the carriage. For one or two people with time, the train is a fair choice. For a family, a group of five or more, or anyone with a flight at the other end, one van door to door is simpler.
Is there a bus from Marrakech to Fes?
Yes, but it is a long day: CTM departures take around 9 to 11 hours depending on the hour they leave, on a fixed timetable from a bus station rather than your riad. Fares are roughly 200 to 240 MAD per person, again depending on the departure, so check the current timetable before you count on it. If the fare is the only thing that matters and you are travelling light, the train does the same job faster. Take the van if you are a group, if you have luggage, or if the departure hour matters.
Can we stop in Rabat, Meknes or Casablanca on the way?
Yes, if it is agreed before booking. The €300 fare is the direct motorway transfer. Short comfort breaks can be arranged with the driver on the day; city visits and sightseeing detours are different: an hour or two in Rabat, with the Kasbah of the Udayas a short walk from where a car can park, a look at Meknes, a stop in Casablanca, or the half-hour detour from Meknes to the Roman ruins at Volubilis all change the driver's day. Say so when you book and we confirm with the driver whether it fits and what it adds, before you decide rather than at the roadside. Entrance tickets, at Volubilis or anywhere else, are paid at the gate, not to us. If you are flying out the same day, we will tell you honestly whether a stop still fits.
Do you have a smaller car for two people?
No. This route is available only in a Spacious Van, at €300 per vehicle one way, including for couples and smaller groups.
Do you also offer private transfers from Fes to Marrakech?
Yes, at the same €300 for the van. We arrange private transfers from your riad in Fes or from Fes–Saïss Airport (FEZ) to Marrakech or Menara airport (RAK), door to door, with the same stops available in Meknes and Rabat on the way. Send us your travel date, number of passengers and pickup and drop-off details, and we confirm the date with the driver before you book. You pay on arrival in Marrakech.
We are going on to Chefchaouen and Tangier after Fes. Can you arrange the rest?
Send us your itinerary and travel dates. We arrange onward transfers with licensed operators, subject to availability on each date. Each transfer is priced and confirmed separately, with payment made directly to the driver.
